Location: Remote, with regular planned travel particularly to monthly and quarterly team meetings in London and to Downton, Salisbury, SP5 3RB
Hours: Full Time, 35 hours per week

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Marketing Assistant to join our Digital team and help bring the work of Help for Heroes to life across our digital channels.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone looking to build their career in digital marketing, with the chance to gain hands-on experience across social media, email, websites, paid search, SEO, analytics and more. No two days will be quite the same; you could be creating and scheduling social content one day, supporting a digital campaign the next, or digging into performance data to understand what’s working.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across the Digital team and wider organisation, helping us reach and engage more people, raise awareness of our work, and ultimately make a difference to veterans and their families.

We’re looking for someone who is creative, curious and organised, with a keen interest in digital marketing and a willingness to learn. You’ll enjoy working collaboratively, be comfortable juggling different priorities and have great attention to detail.

  • Creating engaging digital content for our social media, website and email channels.
  • Scheduling and publishing organic social media content, helping to keep our channels timely, engaging and aligned with our wider activity.
  • Supporting digital campaigns and content opportunities, working with teams across Help for Heroes to bring stories, key moments and campaigns to life.
  • Helping to optimise our website and digital activity, working alongside colleagues and external agencies to continually improve the supporter experience.
  • Supporting digital performance reporting, using data and insights to understand how our channels and campaigns are performing.
  • Getting involved across the wider Digital team, gaining experience in areas including social media, email marketing, paid search, SEO, website development, CRO and analytics.

Please see job description below for more details

About You

Are you creative, curious and excited by digital marketing? Do you enjoy learning new skills, working on different projects and seeing the impact your work can make?

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Have an interest in digital marketing and are keen to develop your skills across different channels.
  • Are creative and digitally confident, with strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Are organised and proactive, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Enjoy working with data and insights to understand what’s working and why.
  • Are a collaborative team player who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have a positive, empathetic and friendly approach to your work.

You don’t need to be an expert in every area of digital marketing. If you’re enthusiastic, willing to learn and keen to develop your skills, we’d encourage you to apply.

About the Team

You’ll join our Digital Team, a collaborative, creative and purpose-driven team working across social media, email and our website to grow Help for Heroes’ digital presence and impact. We combine creativity with data and insights to tell powerful stories, connect with our audiences and help more members of the Armed Forces community access the support they deserve.

As One Team we share a philosophy – I.C.A.R.E. It’s the way we walk and talk, the way we interact with others and how we approach everything we do. We are:

Innovative – Collaborative – Authentic – Resourceful – Energetic.

In return we can offer you:

  • Belonging to a team who make a difference to our community and value equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • 29 days’ annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, regardless of service — plus your birthday off to celebrate!
  • Opportunity to buy and sell up to 5 days annual leave per year.
  • Added to our free health scheme from day one, including discounts on dental, opticians, massages, and more - with the option to upgrade.
  • 3 volunteer days per year to support the Help for Heroes community.
  • A generous salary sacrifice pension scheme with an 8% employer contribution and a minimum 3% employee contribution, plus life insurance up to 4× salary as an active member.

Closing date: Friday 28th August 2026

Interview Process: Two stage process with an initial phone interview and second round stage involving a task.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive a high number of strong applications.

We are committed to equity, diversity and inclusion and welcome applications from all backgrounds.

Help for Heroes believes those who serve our country deserve support when they’re wounded. Every day, men and women have to leave their career in the Armed Forces as a result of physical or psychological wounds. The Charity helps them, and their families, to recover and get on with their lives. It has already supported more than 26,500 people and won’t stop until every wounded veteran gets the support they deserve.
