We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Trading Manager to join the Commercial Directorate at Help for Heroes and play a key role in delivering our Trading plan, growing ecommerce income and enhancing the supporter experience through impactful, purpose-driven products.

About the Role

As Junior Trading Manager, you’ll sit at the heart of our ecommerce and trading activity. You’ll be responsible for delivering the annual Trading plan, generating positive income contribution to the Charity while ensuring a high-quality supporter and customer experience.

You’ll manage and develop our Print on Demand (POD) product range and own-buy stocked Christmas cards, overseeing the full product lifecycle from development and supplier negotiations through to launch, sales performance and evaluation.

Working closely with our Ecommerce Service provider, you’ll help deliver the ecommerce strategy and marketing plan -  maximising sales, profit and conversion, while ensuring all activity aligns with brand and supporter expectations.

You’ll also manage charity fundraising merchandise requirements, collaborating with teams across the organisation to deliver suitable products on time and within budget.

This role offers real ownership and variety - from product development and stock management to performance reporting, marketing collaboration and compliance oversight - with your work directly contributing to sustainable income growth for the Armed Forces community.

About You

You have a strong understanding of ecommerce and a creative yet commercial eye for product. You enjoy balancing data, insight and creativity to drive performance and improve customer experience.

You’re confident managing supplier relationships, monitoring KPIs and identifying opportunities to maximise sales and profitability.

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have a good understanding of ecommerce and retail KPIs (sales, profit, conversion, rate of sale)

  • Understand charity merchandise and what makes products meaningful to supporters

  • Enjoy developing products from concept through to launch

  • Are comfortable analysing performance data and using Excel at an intermediate level

  • Can build strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders

  • Are organised, detail-focused and able to manage competing priorities

  • Stay calm under pressure and adapt to changing demands

  • Care about delivering compliant, ethical and supporter-first activity

About the Team

You’ll work within the Commercial Directorate, collaborating closely with fundraising, digital marketing and cross-charity teams, as well as external ecommerce partners.

The team values collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement  - always ensuring our trading activity supports both income growth and meaningful engagement with the Armed Forces community.

In return we can offer you:

  • Belonging to a team who make a difference to our community and value equality, diversity and inclusion.

  • 29 days’ annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, regardless of service — plus your birthday off to celebrate!

  • Opportunity to buy and sell up to 5 days annual leave per year.

  • Added to our free health scheme from day one, including discounts on dental, opticians, massages, and more - with the option to upgrade.

  • 3 volunteer days per year to support the Help for Heroes community.

  • A generous salary sacrifice pension scheme with an 8% employer contribution and a minimum 3% employee contribution, plus life insurance up to 4× salary as an active member.

Closing date: 13th March 2026

Please note: We may close this vacancy early should we receive a high volume of strong applications.

Help for Heroes values diversity and inclusion and welcomes applications from candidates of all backgrounds.

Help for Heroes believes those who serve our country deserve support when they’re wounded. Every day, men and women have to leave their career in the Armed Forces as a result of physical or psychological wounds. The Charity helps them, and their families, to recover and get on with their lives. It has already supported more than 26,500 people and won’t stop until every wounded veteran gets the support they deserve.
