At Help for Heroes, we support the Armed Forces community in living well after service.

Transitioning out of the military can be incredibly challenging—especially when it happens suddenly due to illness or injury. Overnight, people can lose not only their career, but also a support network that feels like family. We’re here to help. From physical and mental health to broader welfare concerns, we support veterans, their families, serving personnel, and those who worked alongside the UK military. Our services empower people with the confidence, skills, and knowledge they need to thrive in civilian life.

So, who are we? We’re a diverse team of experts and learners, generalists and specialists—ordinary people united by an extraordinary commitment to improving the lives of veterans (and having fun while doing it!).

As One Team, we live by our values—I.C.A.R.E. It shapes the way we work, speak, and support one another. We are:

Innovative – Collaborative – Authentic – Resourceful – Energetic

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Inclusion Project Manager to join our team and help deliver our long-term Livewell Strategy.

About You

This role is ideal for someone with strong project management experience in the charity or social impact sector. You should have a deep understanding of accessibility and inclusion, a proven track record of leading complex change initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, and proficiency with project management tools.

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential. You’ll also need experience in writing funding proposals, managing budgets, and overseeing financial performance.

About the Role

We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Inclusion Project Manager to help us achieve our Livewell 2032 strategy. Your mission: to ensure that our services are inclusive of all groups within the Armed Forces community and that barriers to support are identified and removed.

Veterans often face unique challenges transitioning to civilian life—ranging from mental and physical health issues to unemployment and social isolation. Some cohorts, including ex-servicewomen, veterans from Northern Ireland, and family members of veterans, may face additional hurdles in accessing support. Your role will be pivotal in identifying these obstacles and implementing solutions to ensure equitable access across the board.

You’ll work collaboratively with internal teams and identify opportunities for external partnerships and grant funding.

Building strong relationships with key stakeholders and partners is central to the role. You’ll help co-create an adaptable model for training, learning, and cultural transformation—ensuring it’s embedded across the charity as we evolve and expand.

About the Team

You’ll be part of a dynamic and supportive team, working closely with the Case Management Team on a daily basis. This is a unique role that spans the charity, from recovery services to strategic transformation, ensuring that we reach our change programme goals.

Help for Heroes believes those who serve our country deserve support when they’re wounded. Every day, men and women have to leave their career in the Armed Forces as a result of physical or psychological wounds. The Charity helps them, and their families, to recover and get on with their lives. It has already supported more than 26,500 people and won’t stop until every wounded veteran gets the support they deserve.
